Rubber on wheel arch extensions?

Sorry if this has been asked but couldnt find it. I removed my wheel arches for a friend to spray them for me and he removed the rubber off them, do i glue the rubber back on before i fit them or do i just push it up against the car and put the clips on?
Hope that questio makes sense.
Also someone stole 1 of the front wheel arches extensions from my car where can i buy a knew one to fit a GTI?

Just slide the rubber back on and it will stay in place.

Ok thanks for that i will do that then, any idea where i can buy a replacment for the one thats missing? Remember it needs to be for a GTI
