#1: North West regular meets Author: macca1411, Location: Westhoughton, LancashirePosted: Fri Nov 04, 2011 4:12 am ---- After the poor turnout at the Trafford Centre, I was wondering if it is worth us having a regular meet.
I was thinking about maybe every couple of months, either at the same location so we get a regular slot, or at a different place decided the meet before, so that we can get round the entire North West for those that don't like travelling to far.
What are the North Wests thoughts? Same place or swap around? Evenings or weekends? What sort of things would people want to do? Would non North West members want to join us?
Won't be this side of Christmas, but no harm in getting plans in place for 2012
#2: Re: North West regular meets Author: Hereford, Location: Mancheter AreaPosted: Fri Nov 04, 2011 4:45 am ---- Macca1411, I'm up for the new year.

That's why I put the idea to bed, only four people showing interest in the two weeks after it was suggested.
You will get loads saying that they will come to something, but in the hours before the meet 50% will pull out, or you'll just be sat there waiting for people to turn up but they won't have the courtesy to tell you they are not going to make it.
#25: Re: North West regular meets Author: Hereford, Location: Mancheter AreaPosted: Thu Jan 26, 2012 9:21 am ---- Ah, well I can say I've had a good go at trying to get us all together!!!
I'll be putting a date a time together this weekend, probably for next week. It's still looking like a Sunday. So even if 1 or 2 turn up, saves me either eating a FULL box of doughnuts to me self or supping a pint with me dinner or tea!
I know some people can't drag themsells away from their gaming consoles or blink away from Fakebook!
But at least it will Be a couple of hours out for some and a change of all 4 walls!
Hey! If I'd said, FREE FOOD, BEERS and SINGLE TOPLESS WOMEN, we'd have every man and their DOGS!
I can't see why people are finding it that difficult. Fair enough if your working or got plans already prepared? Good god!, wouldn't like a big job break out!!..!!
Easy,
CAR - Hot soapy water, wash and clean it, quick Hoover if you fancy yourself!
SHOWER - Get in it, wash and clean, brush ya teeth!
GET DRESSED - Your not going to Church, no Ties! Or shoes!
DRIVE - Am sure some can do this, even bring a mate if your a recluse!
ARRIVE - Say Hi Andy, told you I'd come!
EAT, DRINK - Cant be simpler!
Come one, pull ya fingers out... Only a few more votes, you owe it to ya sells! What's point being part of a club if nobody sees anyone?
#26: Re: North West regular meets Author: donkeyding, Location: manchesterPosted: Thu Jan 26, 2012 10:15 am ---- Il second that pal. Sort it out n il be there pal. May have cun straight from work but i will be there!!

#27: Re: North West regular meets Author: Bassline_Toad, Location: Chester, UKPosted: Thu Jan 26, 2012 12:39 pm ---- I was the "Area Rep" for N.Wales, nothing happened mate, Meets are few and far between to be honest here
Bit of a shame really
I am more than happy to attend a Trafford center meet, but It would most likely need to be a saturday
#28: Re: North West regular meets Author: Hereford, Location: Mancheter AreaPosted: Mon Jan 30, 2012 5:49 am ---- Ok Guys,
This is the POLL results for our meet. Everyone who has expresses an interest.
I've deleted the days that members didnt pick.
So,
As you can see from above, the meet day is looking like a SUNDAY 42% = 6members suggested "any day" and 21% = 3members Expressed a Sunday afternoon.
If the other (5) who didn't pick Sunday, do you think you'd be able to make it?? If not, we could arrange another meet in the next 6weeks or so if your interested. No doubt, others will give you feedback "If they turn up"....!
So as previously mentioned the days activities, how does This SUNDAY sound?
Date: SUNDAY 5th February
Time: 15:00hrs
Location: Krispy Kreme Carpark
From there we can all decide,
a) Krispy Kreme challenge and a brew b) Some tasty food / Buffet / whatever and a pint
OR
c) All of the above
We need to get this running
What i'm now looking for is:
User Id, Name of Member, Mobile number "Via PM"
Please list your attendance below Last edited by Hereford on Mon Jan 30, 2012 9:21 am; edited 1 time in total

#39: Re: North West regular meets Author: Davies, Location: ManchesterPosted: Wed Feb 01, 2012 4:08 pm ---- Looks that way mate!
#40: Re: North West regular meets Author: Hereford, Location: Mancheter AreaPosted: Thu Feb 02, 2012 12:16 am ---- I don't know why members bothered adding a vote in the first place if they don't intend to meet/turn up?
In my mind it's been confirmed that members only like to add posts and think they will "vurtually" attend. It just shows from the last couple of posts.
What members don't understand is that I've tried my best to plan and prepare a meet, not just a meet for me, a meet for "US" members of a club who should meet up every now and then to take a vauled interest in what other members do to thier cars!! They put a lot of time, money and effort into making their cars look super flash, pimped, different. It's about talking to others, taking advice, tips and suggestions etc....and to finally meet those who they post to and PM throughout their time on here..
I've taken time to plan a meet for new and old members. Realistically the last two weeks of Posts/Polls have been a f*****g waste of my time and efforts!! (My opinion of course, for members who take a knock quite litterally)
I don't see the point of people saying they will come but not have the decentcy when it comes closer to the meet to actually say "Actually Andy Mate", I can't come or I never even intended to...! I just really wanted to add extra posts to my user account!!! What a total s**t show! I think you've let your selves down in my opinion!
For those who did reply and said they would meet, err (1) - (2) at the very MAX, THANKS!
For those who just cant be arsed, give yourself a big pat on the back..!
What a total pointless and time wasted thread! (PLEASE CLOSE)
#41: Re: North West regular meets Author: Rob2859, Location: HalifaxPosted: Thu Feb 02, 2012 8:09 am ---- Don't feel too bad about it mate. I don't understand some people ether.
#42: Re: North West regular meets Author: -Dave-, Location: North ManchesterPosted: Thu Feb 02, 2012 8:35 am ---- If you look at the first post in this thread you will see its about the fact that the last Trafford Meet was a complete waste of time. I have organised a few now and apart from the first one were all a complete let down. People just are not intrested on meets like this anymore and/or are just to busy to attend. But then saying that I have tried to organise full days out and they have had the same outcome.
Hence the reason I don't organise small meets anymore. Which is not good for new members who want to meet others but unfortunatly when it comes to the crunch it just isn't worth wasting the time.
Credit to you for trying but I'm not surprised at the outcome at all. I am putting my energy into the bigger meets now like FCS and Mod Nats and will later in the year arrange a Blackpool one also.
Unfortunatly it just seems the old fashioned meet ups seem to be dying out.
#43: Re: North West regular meets Author: Hereford, Location: Mancheter AreaPosted: Thu Feb 02, 2012 8:41 am ---- I'm reet Rob,
I just don't understand why some members are part of this "Forum?"
It's an absolute JOKE!
Hey, I can at least say I've tried, enticed and failed due to lack of support..!
Least we know where us guys stand... It's just a good job your not in the Army, as you'd be in cover shooting on your OWN..!
Enough negatives from me for one day, I've had my say.
Anyway, how's you Rob

#53: Re: North West regular meets Author: Hereford, Location: Mancheter AreaPosted: Sat Feb 04, 2012 10:04 am ---- Not at the moment with the really late replys and current weather conditions.
I think best the best way forward is that anyone who's interested, send us your mobile and I'll joint text everyone and arrange it that way. At least saves posting a million posts to get a NO SHOW or late post etc...
