Sat for 2 hours started fine again . Drove home went to start it again after 10minutes and the revs shot straight up to 3000rpm then down to 2000rpm and started bouncing will have a look later.

Should come with a new seal ring.
And clean all the crap off there while you're at it.

Oops..
The only grease you should be using on rubber seals is either silicon grease, or dry-type PTFE. Otherwise you're compromising it's sealing ability and it will dissolve the rubber over time.
I would thoroughly clean it all off and wash the sealing ring with dish-soap and warm water.
Looks like you're getting there though..

There is one hell of a vacum there as I found out when I nearly got my hand sucked-in a throttle body, and it was only a 1.4
