fit a new one

as Antknee said , change the belt while its off
not suggesting to get this one ( try local motor shop ) but its what you are looking for

Can this happen with the aux belt?
I thought it was the cam belt that casues damage if it goes.
But ye new belt too.

Auxiliary Belt
Ancillary Drive Belt
Timing Belt
Cam Belt
is any of this stuff covered in the Haynes Guide? will be getting one next week.

Its all covered in the Haynes manual, you're probably best waiting for it to arrive and have a good read through the relevant sections.
