#1: Electric window.. Author: ChrissyPUG, Location: ScotlandPosted: Mon Nov 14, 2011 12:53 pm ---- One of my passengers spilled juice into my electric window switch and it affected the drivers side only, it stopped working so i went and bought a whole new switch.. fitted it and the window still does not work.
it may be worth mentioning that i had to remove the door card and undo the coil/motor or whatever it is to loosen the window in order to push the window up, could i have messed with that coil and thats what may need replacing?

Check to see if there is +12v at the motor when you press the switch, that will answer your question.

Also just in case, you cant fit a AUTO electric window switch in place of a normal switch.
#4: Re: Electric window.. Author: ChrissyPUG, Location: ScotlandPosted: Mon Nov 14, 2011 1:01 pm ---- where will i find the fuse for it?
what you talking about an AUTO electric switch?

Cabin fuse box is where the fuses live.
AUTO electric switch has a A on the drivers switch for one shot up & down, you cant plug one of these in to a 206 with just normal electric windows.

#7: Re: Electric window.. Author: paul_c, Location: UKPosted: Mon Nov 14, 2011 1:29 pm ---- There is a FAQ somewhere with fusebox location, and location/description of each fuse. The info is also in the owner's manual.
#8: Re: Electric window.. Author: lmay, Location: SydneyPosted: Thu Dec 15, 2011 6:17 am ---- Hi i have the same problem except only the the drivers side window doesn't go up when pressed. But when i press down it works.. so now the driver's side window is completely open and i have no idea how to put it back up.
i've been searching for diagrams on what the inside of the window switch should look like but failed to find any.

It looks like a printed circuit board with components soldered on to it.
If you have a A button for driver / one shot window then there will also be 2 small realys soldered on to the other side of the circuit board.
The window circuit is simple.
2 wires to the window motor, when the switch is operated one wire has + 12 volts on the other is earthed.
To make the window move the other way the polarity of the wires is simply swopped around inside the switch.
#10: Re: Electric window.. Author: lmay, Location: SydneyPosted: Thu Dec 15, 2011 3:34 pm ---- thanks for the speedy reply. unfortunately i dont have a clue about circuts and wiring
i was just hoping it would be an easy fix like attaching a wire or changing a fuse.
im just trying to avoid paying hundreds of dollars for a mechanic to tell me that i need a whole new part if i didnt need one.
is it simple for a girl like me to swap the polarity of the wires with not much knowledge and only basic tools?

#14: Re: Electric window.. Author: B1gM4c, Location: DerbyPosted: Thu Feb 09, 2012 1:44 pm ---- My passenger window is stuck down and neither of the switches are working, also my central locking isn't working or my rear wiper... This is a result from me fitting my Amp in my boot. Any suggestions on how to make my Windows/Central Locking work again? Thanks

Replace the fuse you have blown when messing about with the electrics.
If you RTFM it will tell you which fuse to look at / replace.
