Head unit switching on!

Hi, I've recently just bought a GTi 180, and the previous owner has replaced the original stereo with a dvd head unit. The problem is, whenever I open any of the doors, the head unit switches on. Then if I dont switch it off, after a coulple of times the head unit loses all of its settings. I made sure the unit was properly wired, and the permanent live and ignition live are all correct.

Any idea's anybody?

Thanks in advance Very Happy

The headunit is wired up incorrectly.

It does'not happen everytime, and I checked the head unit wiring, and checked the car's wiring with a test light, it's all very strange!! Sad

GTI 180 is multiplexed, I get the feeling the radio has been mistakenly wired to the VAN wire in the ISO plug Wink

The radio wiring info is in the back of the owners manual & its also in the ICE section FAQ on this forum.

Double check the wiring after reading the diagram in the manual / ICE FAQ section.
