i have wired up the 12v constant (from the ciggarette lighter) and the red/black wire (from the alarm unit itself), however im stuck after this. any help will be appreciated.

"Positive /Negative interior light" typically refers to which way the switch(es) in the door(s) used to operate, supply +12V or supply ground directly to the circuit.
Haven't played with the interior light in the 206 (other than to replace the stock bulb(s) with LED's, so no direct knowledge, but here's what I've deduced do far (if utterly wrong in my conclusion, someone please correct and clarify!):
IIRC, in 'normal automatic' mode (on with open door, fade off when closed [switch not in the On or Off position]) the bulb is supplied by 'ignition +12V' (somewhat extended compared to actual key...) and BSI ground (which arranges the fading off).
As far as I understand it, the door switches only provide a signal to the BSI, and are not an active part in the circuit for the light the way they used to be on older cars.
It might be that you need two relays, one each for ground and +12V to the bulb (don't know how happy the BSI would be with 'backfeeding' these wires, might require isolating diodes to protect it), or you might be able to tap the input wire from the door switch(es) to BSI (ie telling the BSI 'door open' and then let it turn on the light...
In the latter case the "positive /Negative light" still sort of applies as to what kind of signal the BSI expects from an open door...

Not sure, but according to the auto dimming mirror howto link() I'd suspect blue on a non/pre plexed car and yellow (fat) on a multiplexed...

You need a constant positive, output to sidelights, earth to bsi earth, switch to constant +12volts.
Protect existing circuit with diodes.
Only way you'll get them to fade like the interior light is with a capacitor
