#1: Can anyone help me diagnose this issue? Author: danhodson, Location: Derby, UKPosted: Thu Dec 01, 2011 1:22 pm ---- Evening guys,
After having my clutch replaced last month I'm now being troubled by something else.
I'll try and explain as best I can.
So the last few days I'm noticed my car has started what can only be described as hiccuping, where the power drops off momentarily almost as if it is about to stall.
This happens at around half throttle (30mph in 3, 50mph in 5th) It also nearly stalls when idling but this isn't so consistent and happens less regularly.
I had it serviced a couple of weeks ago by a friends brother, who is a mechanic. Its ran perfectly smooth until 2 days ago, and I can't help but feel the issue is getting worse.
Has anyone else experience such and issue, and could maybe advise me what it could be?

That was one thing that did cross my mind, I had an issue with such a valve on my old vauxhall corsa, where about in the engine bay is it located, and what is best to clean it with, as I just replaced the valve on my corsa.

Also the fact the engine plays up when the car isn't idling suggests it's not the ICV!

I'm not sure if it does, mine is a 1.6 16V Preplex if thats any help? Could it be the coilpack?

I'd say "spark" ones at a guess

NGK at a better guess
Ask what plugs he used. If they were NGK tell him to change them for Bosch.
#9: Re: Can anyone help me diagnose this issue? Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Thu Dec 01, 2011 3:34 pm ---- Most mechanics will fit NGK plugs to everything as they want to collect the ends of the boxes the plugs come in for there rewards out the catalogue

#11: Re: Can anyone help me diagnose this issue? Author: JR180, Location: The South CoastPosted: Fri Dec 02, 2011 4:36 am ---- As above I would say change spark plugs to OE Peugeot Bosch and check Coil Pack. If an older model the Sagem coil pack may have given up the ghost.

Thanks JR, I'm currently unable to look into the situation due to having to work. Is there much chance of me breaking down..?
#13: Re: Can anyone help me diagnose this issue? Author: JR180, Location: The South CoastPosted: Fri Dec 02, 2011 5:22 am ---- Little chance of you breaking down providing the problem is hesitancy. Car will just be down on power and be juddery.
#14: Re: Can anyone help me diagnose this issue? Author: danhodson, Location: Derby, UKPosted: Fri Dec 02, 2011 1:10 pm ---- I've spoke to the mechanic who serviced the car and he has told me he fitted Bosch FR8SC+ spark plugs so the issue cannot lie with them, he has however advised me to check the coil pack and ignition leads.

#16: Re: Can anyone help me diagnose this issue? Author: Jeepster73, Posted: Thu Nov 03, 2016 7:30 pm ---- Hi guys,
I'm new here and appreciate any advice.
Right where do I start so we get it all correct, in august this year I purchased a 2005 1.4 sport 206 in black for my other half. Upon inspection of the car all looked well it was a bit noisy due to the centre section of the exhaust being shot, so this was replaced by the seller. The following day I was able to pick the vehicle up, which I did and I drove home noticing that the emissions light was lit. I get home turn the key off then on and start engine shaped light goes out and there appears to be no problem. Good so a few days on and the emissions light comes on this is the engine shaped light. The car then developes a hesitation problem sometimes with a slow to almost cutting out issue to high rpm and screaming off down the road. The car is sluggish when cold and still doing this after spending over a week in my friends garage, and them trying to diagnose the issue. Their conclusion is this the manifold is carboned up and the injectors are spraying on to the carbon build up and the fuel is dipleting so much that is hesitating. The coil pack was swapped out to check if that was the issue, the spark plugs have been replaced, I guess I need some real sort of guidance as to what this problem might actually be as I don't want my other half involved in an accident due to loss of power and this happened this morning whilst driving cold there was a totally loss of power then it started screaming with high rpm then sluggish and low power virtually cutting out! It's like you can feel the power slipping away then it comes back and your off. Could it be vacum, ICR, MAF, EGR, TPS??? Any advice greatly welcome jeepster!!!
