#2: Re: EW10 engine Author: Rob2859, Location: HalifaxPosted: Thu Dec 01, 2011 2:46 pm ---- Lotus seem to stick their noses into everyone's business tbf.
#3: Re: EW10 engine Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Thu Dec 01, 2011 2:51 pm ---- Lotus involvement if true doesn't mean anything special.
#4: Re: EW10 engine Author: Schumi, Location: Istanbul / TurkeyPosted: Thu Dec 01, 2011 3:06 pm ---- Thats wrong. Only GTI180 cylinder head is developed over EW12 VVT head by Mecachrome (Formula 1 engine company).
#5: Re: EW10 engine Author: Seabook, Posted: Thu Dec 01, 2011 3:13 pm ---- so the VVT wasn't bought from toyota either?
#6: Re: EW10 engine Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Thu Dec 01, 2011 3:46 pm ---- Lotus help develop the EW10J4S
#7: Re: EW10 engine Author: JR180, Location: The South CoastPosted: Fri Dec 02, 2011 4:38 am ---- I also heard the cylinder head design was by mecachrome.
Apart from this I thought it was all developed by Peugeot Sport.
#8: Re: EW10 engine Author: imjeeves, Location: Glasgow / WellingPosted: Fri Dec 02, 2011 7:58 am ---- No Peugeot sport couldnt do it.
The way I head it was that Peugeot could not get the claimed 180bhp from gti engine. They kept blowing up.
They gave the whole engine and asked for lotus to give the car 180hp. They changed the bottom end design, bigger valves and added the VVT system from their Toyota owners.
They also fitted a equal length / balance exhaust and air intake. Giving the around 180 bhp.
