#1: What an eventful night! :( Author: judgey93, Location: Burnley England PostPosted: Thu Dec 01, 2011 5:23 pm
    ----
Right tonight I was driving along and my battery light came on and startled me tbh so got to safe place pulled up all my lights were really dim, interior speedo lights, headlights and cd player was flashing. I turned the car off as thought something may have fused then went to turn it on and was dead!

So I got my mate to bring some jump leads to jump start my car which worked, then as I set off again all speedo needles started flicking and going on and off up and down like it was fusing or something. Then air bag light came on and stayed on. Then I got in touch with my dad as car kept doing the same thing all the time so got him to tow me home.
Was wondering if anyone could shed any light on this? My dad said possibly fan belt, battery is buggered or alternator ??

Thanks alot Tom!!

Just a tip for cleaning the earth, try scrubbing hard with high grit sand paper until shiny and clean.

Then before you reattach to chassis give it a good plastering of copper grease.

The earth strap from the battery on our 206 rubbed on the battery box and slowly chewed its way through. Could be worth renewing it just incase? I got one from A1motor store for a fiver!
