#17: Re: 206 Rear Axle Replacement Author: martinius88, Location: Rushden, NorthantsPosted: Fri Dec 02, 2011 12:32 pm ---- Why not heed the advice of people that know what they're talking about?? Whats the point of not having the abs just because its a 'newer' axel... In reality anything could go wrong straight away regardless of the age. Also wouldn't it be cheaper to get a slightly older one? And the abs is linked to the brakes not axel.
My opinion anyway, as i dont think itll improve the performance in anyway. Well upto you mate.
#18: Re: 206 Rear Axle Replacement Author: Linkpad, Location: WalesPosted: Fri Dec 02, 2011 12:36 pm ---- Well i already ordered the axle and the mechanic said it would be fine so i thought i would ask here check and you said it wouldn't luckily ebay do refunds. Incorrect.
I beam on a car that has sat up for years will be worse than a beam from a car that has been used.

#30: Re: 206 Rear Axle Replacement Author: Linkpad, Location: WalesPosted: Sat Dec 03, 2011 8:37 am ---- Ill wait until the 2004 year axle comes for my 2000 GTI and get the mechanic to look on Monday I can see the ABS pump with the six pipes coming off it but not sure where u can see the compensators ? Its just a hydraulic driven pump as far as im concerned but it definatley works as the lights goes away when i start ignition ...
