#1: Laser Tools 3396 hub tool Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Mon Dec 05, 2011 3:21 pm ---- Am I right in thinking these are used to lever the hub apart slightly to make pulling the damper out of the hub easier?

#3: Re: Laser Tools 3396 hub tool Author: Steve206, Location: UKPosted: Mon Dec 05, 2011 3:56 pm ---- Its not hard anyway. Never needed these tools when ive removed my dampers. Just undoing the hub nut loosens it enough.

Looks like you stick the end of the tool in the slot & then use a long breaker bar to twist it.

was thinking that but wasnt sure if i would be right thought there might have been a different way
there quite good idea tbh, tho i find a bolster tapped into the back a tiny bit (so not to damage anything) works fine for me. if there not expensive i would still have a set for my tool box tho lol
#8: Re: Laser Tools 3396 hub tool Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Thu Dec 29, 2011 11:21 am ---- These tools are a waste of time for the 206. The gap in the hub is miles too big for the socket to fit.
It does describe the sockets and a hub nut tool but can't see how they would help.
#9: Re: Laser Tools 3396 hub tool Author: EdCherry, Location: WiltshirePosted: Thu Dec 29, 2011 6:35 pm ---- I took a light skim off the hub some with coarse emery paper, takes a while but did a nice job. Can remove both front dampers from on the floor to on the bench in less than 10 minutes. With a light grease they just slide straight out.
Alternatively I have used a small chisel hammered in the tab to open the aperture up enough to slide the damper out.
