Hi can anyone help the key fob on my peugeot 206 1.1 look will unlock and lock the doors but it will turn the engine over but won't start, tried the master key and that works fine. Any ideas would be helpful
Thanks
Chris
The remote key is the two button type with lock and unlock symbols on buttons.

You need the key reprogramming to the car.

I can do this if you want.

I'm in Dinnington, S25.

I charge £20 + 0.60p a mile after 20 miles from my house. And if it needs a new immobilser chip in the key I charge £15 for that and the security code.

I also include a full code read as well.

Rolling On The Floor Laughing @ calling Lee a tool

Seriously though he did mine for me, cheap enough and was house trained too which was an added bonus.

You haven't changed your key fob case by any chance?

I had the same fault as your after changing the fob. I transfered the pcb & the key to the new fob and then had same fault as yours.
It turned out that I had not transfered a Black rectangular block which was in one corner of the old fob.
Rather risking damage whilst removing the bit,
I ended up using the original bottom case & only replaced the faulty casing which had the 2 damaged buttons on it.

first hi all Smile i too have this problem Sad how on earth can changing the outer casing of my key suddenly stop my car starting? changed it yesterday as it was sooooooooo tatty (i recently bought my pug) and this morning she turns but dont start!!!!!! lucky for me i have the master key so got going but have to sort the other one out just in case of anything...............how do i sort it? would it be best to go to peugeots? why does this happen? took me ages to figure out what the problem was and only realised when advised to get out lock the car then try unlocking and starting it again...........car locks and unlocks fine so my brain said 'hmmmmmm immoboliser dont seem to be turning off' tried the other key and she started straight up ........should have stuck with the tatty key Sad

Because of the Black rectangular bit in the housing which holds the pcb.
The Black rectangular bit could be a magnet or a transpnder.

Do as what I did in my earlier post to fix it, or transfer the Black rectangular bit to the new housing.

Cheers macca 1411,

I wish I had seen that post before I replaced the fob.

The black rectangular bit is the transponder chip for the immobiliser system.

Without the correctly coded transponder chip being inside the key the immobiliser system wont disarm.

Your not the first & you wont be the last to make this same mistake Wink

I am pleased to know that it has now been been sorted.
I had also missed it due to its colour being same as the casing.
If the colour of the transponder was different, then we would have noticed it more easily.
