cheers for the heads up on the lexia units, will the diagbox work with my old hdi (registered end of 2000)

This is something i will use on other cars and not just occasional use, also what is a fair price for the diagbox

How can you tell if it's a 'cheap chinese clone' anyways? Also, looking at ebay and searching for diagbox, the kit looks identical to the lexia/pp gear..

Version 5 came out in late 2010 Wink

Lexia 3 hasn't been used in years, was phased out for CAN-BUS

New Diagbox doesn't use Lexia or PP at all Wink

Unstable and risk of corrupting BSI and ECU. Would never reprogram with a clone, as it lacks the features and also doesn't work on as many protocols.

Only works on 2000 or XP

hmm this is all very interesting stuff has anyone on here purchased an ebay diag kit? and if so how did you get on with it.

the reason for me wanting to get hold of a kit is just to diagnose problems and not re-program the ecu in any way, and also to stop the evil peugeot dealership trying to charge me £75 + vat to plug it in and have a look.

Just out of interest what sort of diagnostic kit should peugeot be using now?

Cheers

Steve

There are no keygen's for what PSA use now so don't waste your time looking for it Wink

no thats not what i am after i just want to know that when i do ask my unfriendly local peugeot dealer for a diagnostic session they will be using the latest software or kit to do the job especially at the prices they quote.

The original reason for this thread is to first gain some idea into what the lexia diag stuff is like and if it will work on my x plate 206 hdi, I havent had my 206 for long and want to do a diagnostic test on it just to make sure all is well and i would rather pay £75 for something i can keep rather than lining the pocket of my local pug dealer.

The reason i do most of my own work on all my cars especially the mini's, is that i have been stung by dodgey garages a few times before, and now will avoid going to one unless its MOT time or cambelt change time.

Lee: Just noticed your signature that you do fault code reading its a shame you are so far away as i would pay you to read the codes instead, out of interest how much do you normally charge for this service? and do you know if any of the guys on here can do a diag for me in the south west (Bristol) area.

thanks

They will be running the latest versions. Well in fact they won't, they'll be running two updates ago as the latest update is very buggy and been told to roll back the version as it was a lot more stable.

Lexia 3 is very old, don't know anyone that uses it.

I charge £20 then 60p a mile after 20 miles. Don't know anyone down there really that does that stuff.

Steve
