If you're fully comp you might as well go through the insurance. The farmer is most likely going to claim for his sheep from your insurance, so having the car repaired by them isn't going to increase your premium that much more than it's going to increase anyway.

If it's jigged properly, you will never know it's been on a jig. It's impossible for anyone here to say if it needs going on a jig as no one has seen the damage.

Roast Lamb for lunch on Sunday?

Edit. If it was the police that caused the accident, you can claim through their insurance. Let the insurance companies battle it out as to whether or not you being blinded by a police car was the cause.

Airbags / pre tensioners fired?

As its a 1.6 HDI id be very tempted to let the insurance company write it off if possible.

Pretensioners yes airbags no, but hazards come on, and It's a legal right for a farmer to keep livestock were there ment to be not in the road so he can't claim off me, he said he would pay for the damages but I think he underestimated the cost, I could take him to court but how can u get money off a farmer who hasn't got note? Stressful!!!!!

Haha, a farmer with no money? no chance! any way they have liability insurance for stuff like this, probably why he wants to deal with it off the books

Sheep running at 60mph & it was the polices fault? Sounds like a wooly story to me.

Depends how the sheep got out. If they escaped through a badly maintained fence, then the farmer will be liable. If someone had left the gate open or another car had gone through the fence and not reported it to the farmer, then the farmer can't be held responsible for where his sheep were.
Farmers are always bleating that they are broke, I've yet to meet a poor one.
If the farmer has already accepted responsibility, then go to the insurance and let them chase him for the money. It's what you pay your premium for, let them do the work for you.

High ground time coming (shame the sheep weren't on it, you might have seen them). You should have been going at a speed where you could safely stop if there was an obstruction in the carriageway. You hit the sheep, so therefore the accident was your fault.

One thing puzzles me, how did you hit 4 sheep with the side of your car at such a speed where you think it has damaged the chassis? It's just plain baaaaarmy.

Auto warn hazard lights will come on for rapid deceleration OR impact that triggers the srs system.

I don't understand how the Police could have blinded you and caused you to crash. If I see a police car etc in the road in an unusual position, I normally slow down well in advance because there's normally a very good reason why they're in an unusual position.

Unidentified car in the distance with lights on full beam? I'll slow down for that too, so I can see.

Did you slow down at all? If not, then why not? If so, then what speed were you doing before you slowed to 60mph?
