#1: Heater not blowing Hot Air Author: mnaylor, Location: West SussexPosted: Mon Dec 19, 2011 10:28 am ---- Hi All,
I have just signed up to try and find out what is wrong with my Mum's 206 Roland Garros. The heater will not blow hot air, only cold, even once the Engine is up to operating temp.
My first thought was head gasket so I checked for symptoms and none. The oil is nice and clean, not using any, and the car is not overheating. No mayo under the oil filler cap etc.
So now I assume it is heater matrix connected. Is this the case? All I was going to do was go down the local scrappy and get one from a 206 down there, but before I start taking the dash apart I thought I would ask on here.
I have owned two 205 GTI's in years gone by so I am used to dealing with these sort of gremlins the French like building into their cars
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

Checked the pollen filter?
Tried bleeding the system? could have an air lock.

#5: Re: Heater not blowing Hot Air Author: mnaylor, Location: West SussexPosted: Mon Dec 19, 2011 10:57 am ---- It has air con and has a digital display. So is it classed as climate control? No manual controls as such.
So it is not 100% the matrix then?

Digital climate control, the top spec of heating you can get in a 206
#7: Re: Heater not blowing Hot Air Author: Timon2210, Location: PalestinePosted: Mon Dec 19, 2011 2:32 pm ---- try to change the thermostat first before u start changing the heater matrix
#8: Re: Heater not blowing Hot Air Author: Rob2859, Location: HalifaxPosted: Mon Dec 19, 2011 6:28 pm ---- How much anti-freeze do you have in the car? Mine did the same last winter and it turned out the water froze up in the matrix.
#9: Re: Heater not blowing Hot Air Author: Deckchair5, Location: Bath UKPosted: Tue Dec 20, 2011 2:20 am ---- Look at your engine temp gauge, is it coming up to 90C quite quickly? Is the large pipe going to radiator from the thermostat staying cold as it should when engine is warming up and then suddenly gets hot as thermostat opens? If so then your thermostat is working
Feel the pipes going in and out of the heater matrix with engine hot and heater off. Both should be too hot to keep your hand on. If you have one hot and the other is cold then you have a flow problem through the matrix which could be air in the system so sort that first. If not then the matrix could be partially blocked in which case try back flushing the heater matrix and then try again

#11: Re: Heater not blowing Hot Air Author: skard, Location: UK - NorthPosted: Tue Dec 20, 2011 7:28 am ---- check the heater motor actuator - could be blocking warm air from getting through to the dash vents.
