stumbled over this by chance on the trader this morning

www.autotrader.co.uk/c...?logcode=p

is there any way of knowing if this is genuine white from manufacturer?

according to the register there is only 2 of these in the UK? is that including ones that could have been scrapped

You could run an HPI on it to check, but knowing that the original white 180's where produced for the launch as press cars I wouldn't think that an 04 would have been one of those, just my opinion though so still needs checking just saying i don't think this one would have been white out of the factory.

a full HPI check will give the date the car was repainted, and what colour it was originally Smile

If you look further down the ad its says "solid paint" just after remote central locking and before steering rake adjustment.

It's not original, you can tell it's pearlescent just by looking at it... as mentioned, Peugeot don't do pearlescent white.
