Author: guvna, Location: Epsom, SurreyPosted: Sun Jan 22, 2012 7:46 am ---- With regards to the immobiliser, I know that when the door is opened, there is a beeping noise until the key is put into the ignition. Then the beeping stops. But it's always done this regardless on wether she starts or not.
Would the beeping carry on then if the key wasn't disabling the immobiliser?
As for the double relay, from what I gather, it's underneath the ecu. Gotta work out how to get that off as it looks like there's a rounded off nut on the front of it that looks iffy to shift. Would a spell of WD40 do any good for it?
Thanks.

206 should beep if the key is in the ignition but switched off & then the drivers door is opened.
If it beeps correctly then the transponder key is being seen by the BSI unit so the immobiliser should be working correctly.

Author: tottles-girl, Location: somersetPosted: Sun Jan 22, 2012 9:33 am ---- Mine has been fine for a few weeks but then again it doesnt have any rhyme or reason to this problem. when my dad was having a look at the car he found a small hole in the bodywork by the ecu (the hole isnt rust its ment to b there apparently) he doused the ecu in a load of wd40 and since he has done this a few weeks ago its been fine, he is wandering if its water getting to the ecu and confusing it. we are gonna try bunging up the hole and see if that fixes it.

Though when these start to fail it begins with the symptom when the engine is hot not when cold. Is the problem only or worst when hot or cold starting?

Author: guvna, Location: Epsom, SurreyPosted: Thu Feb 02, 2012 1:08 pm ---- Just had the mechanic do a crank sensor on it, and it's the same problem. he's put his computer on it, and it's showing as no faults, however, the problem still remains.
Could this be the immobiliser?
Could this be the ECU?
Starting to get annoyed now as it's costing a fortune, and wondering wether to just cut losses and run.
