Running issue
-> 206 Problems

Hi, Im looking for some much needed help.

My woman has an `06 206 1.4

Its developed a random fault.
Now and again the EML light will come on and the car will run like a bag of snails.. the car does not stall but will idle quite roughly, it still drives but looses alot of power. The plugs and coil have been changed.

In your opinion would the ICV cause a problem like this? My thinking is it only "operates" below 1000rpm or so? Could a dirty ICV cause issues like this?
Has anyone else had a similar issue? I have checked throught the solved problem forum but had no luck.

Please advise, im cracking up lol

Cheers
Paul

Scan it for fault codes is the first easy step.

You say the plugs have been changed, hope you didnt fit NGK ones Laughing

No fault codes appeared, it's a sl*t!
Had a "mechanic" change the Plugs and do two days worth of testing which came to nothing.
Car came home and problem came back!

Are the plugs visible on removal of the coil as I can whip it off for a look.

What equpiment was it scanned with?

If it was a cheap generic scanner then it might not read manufacturers fault codes.

1.4 could be TU3 - 8 valve or ET3 - 16 valve.

Coil pack is easy enough to remove then just take a plug out & have a look.

Engine fault codes will be stored in the engine ecu.

Peugeot Planet is the best thing to scan it with Wink

Talking of Peugeot Planet, where's the plug that the diagnostic cable plugs into. Is it in the car or under the bonnet?

It has to be inside the passenger compartment & within reach of the drivers seat by law Wink

The 16 pin diagnostic socket is behind the dash flap to the right of the drivers knee.

Use a coin to turn the plastic screw head then lift up / unclip the flap.
