#1: Engine weight difference Author: HDI90, Location: sunny stokePosted: Thu Dec 29, 2011 11:04 am ---- Im just after the weight difference between a 2.0 petrol and diesel, as ive just got hold of some 25mm eibach springs and shocks from a GTI
so in theory if the diesel has more weight the car will be lower than the 25mm?

think the EW10 is aluminium block while the DW10 is cast iron block

The Pro Kit springs are for the 1.4HDi and GTi aren't they?

#11: Re: Engine weight difference Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Thu Dec 29, 2011 12:32 pm ---- I'll try and have a look, might be the whole RFN/RFR thing. Off the top of my head the serial number is in a different place on the alloy to the cast
#12: Re: Engine weight difference Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Thu Dec 29, 2011 12:47 pm ---- All EW10 engine are alloy. RFN/RFR just means the addition of a 2nd lambda sensor.
#13: Re: Engine weight difference Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Thu Dec 29, 2011 1:04 pm ---- I've definitely read on servicebox some are alloy and some are cast.
