Get a Fault code reader with bluetooth, and download an app for your phone and it streams live data to your phone.

Good find wassup, ill keep an eye on it!!

About using my phone, unfortunately the battery life is poor on my Galaxy hence wanting something else. However I have heard good things about torque pro and others that I was looking at before.

Definitely a little gizmo you could show off to your friends Razz without telling them about the adapter. See how many of them go searching for the bluetooth of their cars ;p

Is there any way the cheap ones can damage the car?

Hard wire it in for a better connection. I would anyway. Plus your OBD put will always be free as well.
