#1: It's been a while... Author: Ian777, Location: Chorley, LancashirePosted: Mon Jan 02, 2012 12:07 pm ---- Hi all,
I used to own a 206 GTI 138:
Sold that about 18 months ago and have just bought a black 206 GTi 180.
Just need a bit of Peugeot "refresher training" if you can help me out?
- The electric mirror switch does not appear to be working, could this be a fuse or is there a common fault with these?
- The temperature gauge on the centre console display does not appear to be working either, how do I fix this?
- What is the information on the centre console display that shows what looks like an aerial/fairies wand and shows Miles/Metres next to it?
- The previous owner recently put a jap exhaust on it which has been anodised purple (don't ask!!) It is pretty f'in embarrassing driving around with a purple exhaust (I've only had the car for 4 days) - can you get exhausts/tip anodised back to your normal standard stainless steel? If so, how much can I expect to pay for this and who could do it? Alternatively has anyone got/or knows anyone who has the original 180 exhaust available for sale?
Also I'm not sure how many members on here are from the Preston/Lancashire area but if any who are read this can you let me know of any decent dent repair guys about the area as there are a few dents on the car I want out and also some scratches polishing out? And if you know anyone who can refurb the 180 wheels it would be a great help.
Then I can take some pics of the 180, ha!!
Thanks all.

#4: Re: It's been a while... Author: Ian777, Location: Chorley, LancashirePosted: Mon Jan 02, 2012 12:44 pm ---- Haha, no chance! I am going to struggle to sell this purple thing once I find a 180 exhaust to replace it. It gets even worse, as there are the letters G T I used as a stencil over the high level brake light!! Gangsta!!
No pics till I get these little cosmetic things sorted during January. MOT in Feb should be interesting too!!
Any ideas what that aerial/fairy wand thing is on the display??
#5: Re: It's been a while... Author: Ian777, Location: Chorley, LancashirePosted: Mon Jan 02, 2012 1:31 pm ---- Why has this thread been moved to freechat (non 206 related topic forum) when it is clearly about 206's and requesting advice from 206 members relating to 206 issues?

RTFM"
Cheers brains, if I had the manual I would obviously have referred to it before posting on a 206 forum for additional support. Thanks for the link tho.

#13: Re: It's been a while... Author: mattievrs, Location: LeicesterPosted: Mon Jan 02, 2012 5:03 pm ---- patience, care and oven cleaner like cillit bang will remove the anodising.
#14: Re: It's been a while... Author: Rob2859, Location: HalifaxPosted: Mon Jan 02, 2012 7:49 pm ---- Welcome and I would use a strong caustic soda mix to remove the anodising. Soak it a few times if needed. Or you could use paint stripper as long as you didn't splash it all over the bumper.
