#1: French piece of s***... help please! Author: JordGJ, Location: Leeds / West Midlands PostPosted: Thu Jan 05, 2012 3:08 pm

Gonna keep this short and avoid a rant...

Just got in car and noticed the rev counter is stuck on 0.

Not sure whether it was fine when i pulled off then dropped as i was driving.

All other dials are working fine as far as i can see and car is driving and running fine.

Is this common? any suggestions?

Read the live data, if it's detecting the revs then the cluster is f****d

If not the sensor is knackered

I know it's not Peugeot but my mates berlingo did the same (1998). took batt off for 10mins and it was fine after that, just an idea.

Saxo has always done it, diagnoses equipment doesn't work with it so I checked all the fuses, replaced the cluster and it is still doing it.

Haven't got round to trying anything else yet

Does the job, the guy I bought it off just threw a load of programs onto the disk so it took a while to get the right one working but it's good now it is.

Reads and clears codes, shows engine temp, revs, throttle position etc

Feel free to borrow mine if you want to test it before you pay out some cash for it.

this happened with my gti 138. replaced the cluster and still remained. i tried another cluster to make sure i hadnt got a dud and it worked fine. must be a common problem on these.
is your pug multi plex? mine isnt so cost me a fair bit for the clusters, think multi plex type are cheaper tho.
should find a set for £30 make sure they work Thumb Up

A little fiddly but quite easy, i used a fork to pop the needles off the dials

just take it easy as they is two little clips on the sides that are a little brittle
