Wet back seats
-> 206 Problems

#1: Wet back seats Author: jonnym92, Location: west cumbria PostPosted: Fri Jan 06, 2012 4:43 pm

Basically my back seats are getting wet and after a week of driving/checking i have found the reason why (i think). After taking the rear seat out, the bottom section, there are 3 circles in the metal work that look like bath plugs, one in the centre of each persons a**e if they were sitting in the back. There is dirt around them and a puddle of water. I dried this and kept the seats out. I took it on a 40 mile drive, to work and back. It didnt rain all day but the road was soaked on the way there, when pulling into work, the water was back so i assume its splashing in from the bottom. The boot isnt the blame either as ive took all the carpets out too but they were bone dry. anyone had this before and any advice on how to sort it??

3 or 5 door?

To come up from underneath, the water would need to spray off the wheels and do some strange flowing.

It may be leaking through the window seal if its not that. I had a puddle under my seats before just because the seal lifted up slightly.

I've just replaced my rear window seals because mine where leaking and this time the seals had water on them, but the time before it was just water under my seats and a wet boot. People have seals for sale on here all the time Smile I'd try that first Razz

It did the same thing in my car (5 door) before I applied some bathroom sealant around the 3 bungs, dry as a bone now, Simples.
