I have a set to sell.. They were on my car, until I replaced the Axle. I am keeping the GTI ones on for now. They are suitable for a drop of upto 50mm.

People will generally recommend Bilstein, but I have Apex dampers and I'm very pleased with them.

It depends what your trying to achieve. I run standard gti shocks on track and it handles just as i want it too.
If your not after any specific improvements then stay standard, or if you want to mod for the sake of it (which is perfectly alright to do!) then just look for a good deal on any uprated shocks, might find a bargain!

The way to go!

I don't know if gti rear dampers are any better than ones from the 1.4 but definately look out for bargains. When you look on ebay, try alternate keywords when you search, you wouldn't beleive how people list SP arches as 'spats' and you would never find them otherwise
