#1: GTi 180 couple of issues Author: sri16v, Location: WalesPosted: Mon Jan 09, 2012 1:44 pm ---- Top engine mount by the ECU has gone again and the rocking from it going has caused my exhaust to start blowing again, rough price for genuine mount for Peugeot or should I consider another make?
Also got a wet drivers foot well, water appears to be sitting on the seal on the door and running down into the foot well. Im guessing its most likely to be the weatherproof membrane behind the door, rather than the door seal, any opinions?

Ive just topped the coolant up as it was a touch low, Im pretty sure its rain water,as the trail starts on top of where the seal and the carpet join, and you can sometimes see the water sat on the seal.
Worryingly aswell Ive heard a bubbling noise from behind the glovebox a couple of times, Ive bled the system a few times, and the coolant temperature always seems to hover a bit below 90, and never overheats whilst driving.
Also enjoys a drink of oil now and then but Ive heard a few say the 180 can use around 0.5 litre of oil every 1000 miles

#8: Re: GTi 180 couple of issues Author: sri16v, Location: WalesPosted: Tue Jan 10, 2012 2:45 pm ---- Yep speakers were changed the day I got the car, had to do a bit of modifying as the depth of my Phoenix Gold Octane ZR components were a bit much.
In regards to changing all the mounts, I changed the lower engine mount last year some time, Im not looking to uprate the mount just replace the damaged one, as the engine movement when coming on/off the throttle is awful, which I believe is causing my exhaust to keep blowing from the movement.

My amp power cable is on the passenger side, from the fusebox in the engine bay through the wing and through the grommet into the car and no leaks that side.
The side thats leaking (drivers side) was reversed into a couple of years ago now, but was all repaired and its only just started leaking these past few weeks.

thanks, but do you mean the top seal which is separate from the door seal, or the actual door seal?

Well since ive had this car (september 09) its always been very sensitive to backing off the throttle, my old GTi 138 and every other car has never been so bad.
If you dont ease off gently or apply the power gently in the lower gears the movement is very violent, I cant think what else could be causing it, as the exhaust blowing again from the flexi joint surely confirms that something is amiss
