#1: Clock display/stereo problem - confused!!! Author: amberlil19, Location: BournemouthPosted: Mon Jan 09, 2012 5:05 pm ---- Hi, I'm very new to this! Passed my driving test two months ago and have my first car: December 2003 206, 1.4, 5 door. My knowledge of cars is basic and I literally know nothing about the electrics of the car!
When I bought the car it had the original radio/stereo. I now have a Phillips CEM2000 (brilliant because it plays my MP3s CD's!). When it was first fitted it forgot any settings or preset stations, but I have gone back and the fitters have now resolved that. But the problem I have is the original display which shows the time/temp/open doors/radio station/cd track etc. but since the new radio being fitted it just shows the temperature and open doors. I understand that it won't work with my current radio but I would assume the clock would still work? Also, if a door is open it will say, for example, "Front left door open". But it only scrolls across half the display, and when the door has been closed, whatever letters were on the display at the time will stay there! Also, stereo doesn't work with controls by steering wheel but I didn't expect it to anyway so not too worried about that.
I have tried to search for a solution but I don't understand all the jargon used! I must stress: very new to this! I will highly appreciate any advice and am up for trying to fix it myself to save a few bob! Thank you in advance!!

I would take the car back and explain it worked before they touched it. It won't display the track etc but should the time and when a door is opened etc. Search stalk adapter and that will give you your answer on how to get the stalk by the steering wheel to work again.
