#1: knocking noise and service question Author: donkeyding, Location: manchester PostPosted: Mon Jan 16, 2012 1:06 pm
    ----
Evening,

when ever i set of slowly or set off just on the clutch i get a knocking noise. Had a nosey round and i presume it is going to be the gearbox/ engine mount.

Unfortunatly i really don't know any history of the car so I am going to be doing the cam belt and alternator belt and tensioners.

In the process whilst I remove the engine mount to do the cambelt I may aswell replace ALL the mounts.

Question is how many engine/ gearbox are there, and where is the best place to get them??

Also here is my service shopping list is there anything that I am missing or should buy?

*engine flush
*k&n panel filter
*pollen filter
*oil filter
*bosch super 4 spark plugs
*fuel filter
*oil been advised 10w40
*cam belt and tensioner
*alternator belt and tensioner

As I said I will also be replacing engine/gearbox mounts.

Anythign else or advise please let me know

cheers

dave

there's 3 mounts, if you want something decent easiest option is main dealer.

Alternator belt tensioner isn't a normal service item.

The list of the to do things is good, but you need to add water pumb to it,because it's a must to have it replaced when you change the cam belt.
