#1: 180 struggling when cold Author: LiamGTi180, Location: OxfordPosted: Wed Jan 18, 2012 7:47 am ---- I have a problem when running engine cold. I pull away and the engine is really jerky. When the revs get around 3000rpm and above it runs fine. The problem completely dissapears when the engines warm. It doesn't have to be a cold day for it to happen. Any ideas what could be the cause? They may be electronic, i still think it can be replaced though.

They haven't got an idle control valve, as said above they all seem to be pretty s**t for the first couple of minutes when cold, if its really bad you could try having it plugged into a code reader see if there's any faults.

If i drive around and park up for a bit and drive off it can be ok, leave it to long and i have to sit and wait again.
I can't recall when it started doing it either. I've had a remap and have got an induction kit fitted i don't recall it happening before then or even directly after then.
Im guessing its all down to the cold gases in the system. A mechanic at peueot mentioned about putting original air box back on to see if that effects it.
