lap strap and mot

ive had a look all over the internet and every 1 is giving diffrent answers. i dont have a lap strap in the rear of my car i only have the clip, will this fail an mot?

Yes, All fitted belt's are tested. If it's missing it's a fail.

what if i was to remove the clip ? so it would only have 4 belts

it's calssed as a five seater car so i think it has to have the 5 seatbelts working (i could be wrong)

No good, It has three rear seats and has rear seatbelts so would come with all three, Just replace the belt, Check a scrappie, Ebay or Pm Harry on here.

depends where you go, if you go to peugeot Citroen or some big company then yeah it will fail. if you know someone/somewhere and go there regularly they will probably use their discretion and common sense and overlook little things like that. for example my car has passed the last 2 years running with no lap belt or clip in the middle in the rear, just sayin!
