#1: Project Aftermath. - big audio now in and snakeskin wrap! Author: Elreidy, Location: Wrexham PostPosted: Mon Jan 23, 2012 1:08 pm

Hey all,

If any of you have read my welcome post, you might know abit about me and why i called this project Aftermath, but for those who havent this is why...

i Recently purchased a 2002 1.4 peugeot 206 GLX ( 53k miles on it ) due to writing off my beloved 106xs (vts conversion fully stripped track car) managed this by slipping on some diesal and being inexperienced let off the throttle and landed into a tree...... but on the plus still can start and steer the car fine and its in our storage.

But yeah back to the 206, planning more of a different route with this car and will update here when ever i can, and feel free to ask any questions about either pug Smile

debadged the rear as soon as i got the car home, no need for a big write up on this as i see the guides are really helpfull and detailed on here.

nice car, love the 106 :),about the 206 good start with debadged boot :),but you need new wheels and some tint for the back quarter :),phase 2 boot strip to make it debadged 100%,and phase 2 tail lights, about the front,a set of Morettes would be nice :D,good luck and welcome to the forum.

Thanks mate, i have alot in mind for this 206, need to get the stuff which will make a mess out the way first, the serious modding should start as soon as i get some more money in, and will be verticle doors, th elittle bits such s the phase 2 strip and lights will be swapped as i go along Smile

Hey all, a little update on more small modifications I have done ( still gathering money up for the more expensive mods, as buying the car cost me alot being only an apprentice! )

But anyways first up I got myself some tailered car mats all round, thought they add abit more class than the standard black ones, without looking tacky, and suprisngly for £22 off ebay they are good quality

Next up is some SMD LED's as recomended on here these in the headlights are the 9 block tower and recomend them to anyone. I also purchased a rear number plate set with 4 facing down SMD LED's and recomend these aswell.

Finally I ran all my wires through the bulkhead and through the annoying tight peugeot carpet and fitted my headunit, speakers and subwoofers ( I dont drive around booming to dance music, but I do enjoy the added bass they produce, not to mention the look i like about them in your boot)

The headunit is an Alpine IDA X100, had it in both my peugeots and it is great if you dont mind loosing the function of a cd player and only ipod/usb connection.

For those interested the kits are £1100 from LSD, and from multiple sources are the only kits which are decent enough and durable to be used day to day, they come with all the brackets, extension wires, connectors etc, and the company i used to fit them are called BD-Performance, and would recommend them to anyone, top quality job and even cleaned the car for me, they charged £300 but if you bring someone you recommended both of you receive discount Smile

Dont take this the wrong way but £1400 for lambo doors on an otherwise standard 206, seems like youve got more money than sense.

But so long as you like them thats all that matters.

What other plans have you got for it?

Ah I always just fancied them, keeping a clean look, no body kits etc, next step will be a GTI-180 interior, then go from there one step at a time.

Never taken any my cars into one yet so I should be ok, but they open as normal over a foot if you want so entry isn't effected anymore than if someone parked next to you.

It's a GLX. Top spec in terms of luxury. Electic heated mirrors, electric windows, digital climate control, auto wipers, auto lights, 6 disc cd changer & alloy wheels as standard. Bout all I can think of lol.

No he lived near Brighton. Sold it to someone who said they wanted to use it for hillclimbs IIRC. Was a good 5-6 years ago though so it's probably been sold again before then.

Yer, kinda agree with the above comments... spening as much money as the car cost on a standard 206 seems a bit of a strange thing to do. I could understand if you had a show car but for a normal daily driver i dont really get it, looks very out of place.... and £1400....why didnt you just use this money and buy a better car?!

Seems a bit out of place but importantly you are getting some proper mods on it that will compliment it.

Sport bumpers and alloys are a must now with the current mods on your car.

Goodluck Smile

f*** sports bumpers get the wrc dimma kit or something wide, if your going lambo doors it s show car in the end, sports bumpers on non sports is overdone, originality FTW

Once again thanks for the feedback, some GTI 180 alloys with dunlop maxx sport tyres are on their way should be here Saturday, powdered in white, looking into lowering and altering the body work next, as i say the doors may look out of place at the moment but its coming along slowly Smile

on another note had my H7 conversion done and very happy with the masked crystals, will get some pictures up once the alloys are fitted

Update once again Smile some new shoes for the car!

Finally got hold of a set of well needed alloys, decided on some GTI-180 powder coated in artic white, with some dunlop sp sport maxx tyres

Aswell as this you can see the h7 converted masked headlights on

Next plan is to get that arch gap filled up by lowering it 40mm Smile

Right time for another update it has been a while!

First off I added a cupra-r splitter, bought from a member on here Smile

Following this I decided I was fed up of looking at the grubby engine bay whenever i did my weekly clean, so I decided to take some time out to tart it up a little to match the rest of the car.

Next came some sp bonnet grilles and upper grilles, also sprayed the outline of the peugeot badge white.

And finally upgraded the rear speakers to 65RMS kicker speakers.

Just out of interest what size subs are they? and what size enclosures are they in? Dont look anywhere near enough :/

Also, have you upgraded the front speakers? and amped them? Think you will probably need to in order to overcome all the bass those subs will be producing.

#50: Re: Project Aftermath. Author: Elreidy, Location: Wrexham PostPosted: Fri Aug 17, 2012 11:42 am
    ----
The fronts are all done yes taken the equipment out of my 106 jbl crossovers, and the subs are 13" and the enclosure is more for show, but the sound produced is by far the best I have heard from builds in person with that level of equipment, really made up with it, could probably be better but wouldn't look as nice, the rough depth behind the sub is about 14" roughly.

#51: Re: Project Aftermath. Author: Elreidy, Location: Wrexham PostPosted: Sat Dec 15, 2012 6:52 am

Right its been a while since my last update!

Guess I will start with a few pictures of the roof lining, decided to rip it out and spray it black as I was fed up with the cream look which didn't follow the theme of the car, so off it came!

next up was to get it sprayed..

and the finished product

Also bought a full Janspeed system to get that little extra sound, without having the boy racer drone, quality system as usual from Janspeed really made up with the results, was a bit of a problem getting the system to fit as it is for cars with the under floor cat, so had to have a custom pipe fabricated to attach it to the 421 branch.

some pictures of the car (before the Janspeed system) but all clean before the winter!

And the most recent got myself (well funded by mummy!) a new private number plate, closest I could get to Jay-R (JAY 1R) can see the Janspeed fitted too sits perfect in the cutout.

Will get some up soon as the car stands now when we get some nicer weather.

Back again guys with a few big improvements, decided to break the bank and invest in two HERTZ 15" subs pushing out 1000rms each Smile

Also added somewhere for the usb

And the sunvisors trimmed in alcantara including an extra interior light (its all black around the surround now no white !)

So I moved to the engine bay to make it abit more show worthy, added some custom piping and a green cotton twister kit, have alot more polished covers currently being made Smile

(More detailed version of this on the ICE section)

As you can see the build was resprayed the colour I always wanted, was toying with the idea of the while car going a dark bluey grey shade, the door pods are matching just they are a little dusty when I took these, will take some better when my heavier duty struts arrive for the doors (soundproofing is mighty heavy!) and full 0 gauge cable throughout the car. Pushing 1000rms currently in the subs, capable of 2000 with a better amp, although the build isnt really suited to that level so will probably have the roof done in something mad and put the coilovers on next
