#1: PayPal Fraud Warning!!! Please Read ASAP!!! Author: Matt, Posted: Wed Jan 25, 2012 5:35 am ---- Before anyone moans, I know this isn't "206 talk" but I figured this way it will show up in the scrolling latest posts section to the left so more people will see it & hopefully not get caught.
I recently recieved an email from "PayPal" regarding a payment of £16 odd for a Farmville game, that I don't play, on Facebook.
It prompts you to an imitation PayPal website, where I presume they want members of the public to log in, thus stealing their details. Bank cards, Account details and addresses can be found on there so please just delete the email straight away.
Below are 2 screenshots I have taken of the email on my iPhone.
If this post helps one person, I'll be happy.
Thanks, Matt. Last edited by Matt on Wed Jan 25, 2012 5:49 am; edited 1 time in total

Author: devotedsniper, Location: Tamworth, StaffordshirePosted: Wed Jan 25, 2012 6:46 am ---- It's someone masking (spoofing) their email to look like paypals, usually when you go to reply it will show the true email in the to bar (in your case that other email address is the true one), it's common practice for phising emails (get plenty claiming to be from banks im not even with) just ignore it, junk it or report it.

Author: michaelbishop, Location: IrelandPosted: Wed Jan 25, 2012 7:09 am ---- Cheers for the heads up, my brother nearly got caught out last year over something like this. It all looks official until you dig into the email to find the actual sender's address! barstewards!
#9: Re: PayPal Fraud Warning!!! Please Read ASAP!!! Author: gixxerkev, Location: wiltshirePosted: Wed Jan 25, 2012 7:09 am ---- PayPal emails will always start with "Dear ........" and not "PayPal Customer". Very convincing email though, I'll keep my eyes peeled for any I get. Good thread.
