#1: Exhaust smoking, leaking, engine struggling in lower gears.. Author: hammer206, Location: EssexPosted: Sat Jan 28, 2012 8:46 am ---- Hi all Ive got a 1.4 Zest and today its all of a sudden gone all wrong
Basically when it starts on the 3rd or 4th attempt its chucking out loads of white smoke and the engine sounds like its struggling, I drove it earlier and this is only happening in the lower gears once i get out of third it seems to be ok
No warning lights on but the exhaust is leaking a little. Anyone got any ideas what the hells happened? Thanks in advance

I had a headgasket problem afew months ago but whats happening now has never happened before, the head gasket isnt leaking like it used to so I dont think its the same problem as before anyway

I would be tempted to remove all 4 of the spark plugs & then try cranking it over.
Its sounds like its either seized or the cylinders are full of coolant.

I get the feeling its gonna be expensive, head gasket at least or more likely another lump needed.
