#1: 180 oil leak, Thermostat housing, Crankshaft seal? Author: sri16v, Location: WalesPosted: Mon Jan 30, 2012 4:56 pm ---- Ive got a bit of an oil leak on my 180, the oil seems to be sitting on top of the gearbox, I cant see where its leaking from at present as I havent had time to strip it down and look, but I know for sure its not coming from the cam covers.
Are there any common areas where they leak aside from the cam cover?, or could it be a split breather pipe from the top of the cylinder head?.

remove engine cover and then there's just 20 or so bolts holding down the two rocker covers swap the rubber gaskets over and refit job done

Im guessing the leak is coming from behind the block, out of site then?, as I replaced the gaskets when I first got the car, which was nearly 3 years ago, oh well if its a cheap fix im happy, was dreading the thought of removing the gearbox again on the ground if it was the CS seal

I replaced rocker cover gasket on mine too, but there was a great oil leakage from cammes position sensor (it's about under the thermostatic valve).
I think that's your problem, oil flooded on top of gearbox. Obviously, Pug doesn't sell just the O-Ring, you need to buy the whole sensor...
