#1: 206 axles Author: john206gti, Location: south shieldsPosted: Wed Feb 01, 2012 2:03 pm ---- Ive got a pre-plex gti 138 with movement in the trailing arm.
I can get a mint non abs drum axle for free off a damaged car.
Now if i convert it to a disc axle using parts off my gti axle, does it matter that its non abs?

It will, the non abs axle wont have the fitments for the abs, and you will get an abs fault.
he just said he will swap the trailing arm...
i though the slot was on the arm ?

with trailing arms, torsion bars and arb off the gti axle.
Thought it would be ok but wanted to make sure before the 'big hammer' came out.
If your removing the abs then you wont pass the next mot.
why would he want to remove the abs?
