I did a project when the site was up before- but then i had a change of heart recently thinking it wasn't worth it. However, again, i changed my mind and thought 'to hell with it'
So, this is how i got the car:
She was a pretty tidy car with only 68k on. Had FSH with quite a few receipts for bits and bobs. I am the 4th owner which sucks a tad but Peugeot was the first, then the other 2 were a mother and son from Rugby i think it was.
First thing i changed were the horrific wheels, to some standard GTI ones:
With working all the time i haven't really had too much time to sort some of the bigger bits i wanted to do but i have done silly little bits like freshen up the leather on the seats to keep it mint:
The main problem i had with the car when i got it were the cooling fans, which worked on the test drive but then failed a few days later. Typical! After replacing the relays, wiring loom, all of the fuses etc it turned out to be an £8 fan resistor but i dont regret changing everything else as well as the wiring and fans etc are a weak point on most Pug's especially at this age.
Apart from general maintenance such as 3 oil changes, new dipstick (the old style one crumbled so got a new style one) and little bits such as that the only other thing i have managed to do is a Sportex Catback. I wasnt too sure on this as they have a bit of a reputation for being chavvy but considering the price (£179 from ebay) i am very pleased with the outcome.
Looks great in the cutout and it sounds good too:
Now, she is on 74k so i have done 6k in about 4 months so piling on the miles big time. This has taken its toll on the bodywork somewhat so i am looking to get it detailed when the weather gets a bit better.
My plans now are new wheels. I am after some TD Pro Race ideally but anything light to be honest. I hate the effect big heavy wheels have on handling etc.
Other than that, i am a bit overdue on some new discs and pads all round so i will probably go for some good branded upgrade ones rather than upping the size. When warmed i find the brakes to be more than acceptable.
After that, i want to give the front suspension a bit of an overhaul as although it feels tight there is a few light knocks sometimes so i might go for new drop links, arb etc to freshen it up. If i can be convinced i may also go a bit lower at the same time!

Sweet. you got any pictures?
As for the wheels, i dont really mind the colour. I would like Gloss Black or White but Silver would do!
