When i put the intermittent wipers on the wipers have a mind of their own. Sometimes waits 5 seconds when its raining and then sometimes only 1 second.

It is doing my head in!!

Is it some thing like a faulty sensor?

Think its to do with how fast your going, when mines on intermittent it slows down when im at a standstill.

Have you got auto-wipers?
They will only wipe when rain goes on the sensor fitted to the top of the windscreen.

Yes they are auto wipers. Its bloody annoying when it's only spitting as I have to manually do it by pushing the stalk down. My wipers can make noise if there is not enough water on the windscreen. Sad

Is the auto wiper sensor in the top left hand corner of the windscreen?

It's a hard life having to use a finger to push a piece of plastic. Hope you don't want the window down as you may actually have to move your hand away from the steering wheel Laughing

Seriously though, if you don't want auto wipers on, just turn them off. It tells you in the drivers handbook how to do it.

Problem solved.

I think the rain sensor is in the middle of the windscreen near the interior mirror.

Luckily for you and all the other people who don't have one, Peugeot provide it online free of charge

That link is directing me to the handbook page but when I select the correct language it only brings a blank screen, I'm on a iPad so maybe that is the problem :/

Its just pointless trying to help some of the people that are on here lately, wish the forum had an ignore user function.

With some people apart from getting in your car, driving to them, doing what ever needs doing and driving home again, they are beyond help.

After saying that, I'm thinking your right, I probably haven't got auto wipers because mine is off, auto, slow speed and fast speed. If I haven't got auto wipers why the he'll is my intermitant wipers having a mid of it's own and only wiping at irregular times

What is pointless is posting things like that. You don't need an ignore user button. You can just ignore it.

You will have Auto wipers I pretty sure of that.

Auto wipers do play up and it normally a sign that the sensor is on its way out. My auto wipers work fine when I use them. Inter will stop when you stop and will speed up when you speed up.

Ah I see,

Sorry I was just confused before as I thought you was being sarcastic. My stork still only has the four settings off, auto, slow and fast so my auto sensor must be duff.

Yeah if you have got Auto you wont have inter setting.

My wipers are very rarely used now since I nano'd my screen.

Never bitter. It has helped our campaign to show how tactically inept Steve Kean is.

Only joking dude , I'm just buzzing as our new signing bagged a winner for us today. It's not just kean that is inept, the board are also in need of being washed out, anyway, bit off topic lol

Could it possibly be that you need new wiper blades?

I'm not 100% sure, but if the wipers aren't clearing the sensor sufficently it will wipe again because it is sensing that there is still water on the screen.

From personal experiance, if they are making noise you may be due a new pair anyway.

Might as well give it a try, cheaper place to start than a new sensor.
I would recommend Aero wipers. ASDA sell them now (Well, my local Asda does) or eBay.

Thanks Martin, i went and got some Bosch aero wipers and they clear the windscreen much better and the auto wipers work a treat now as the old wipers were not clearing the rain off the sensor as they should.
