#1: P****d off! Author: LeeMaddern, Location: ScunthorpePosted: Tue Feb 07, 2012 1:34 pm ---- Okay so today i took delivery of my new bilstein shockers.
All was great untill fitting them, firstly there abit longer than normal which wasnt so bad. The part were the drop links connect to the shocker is way to long and catches on the inside of the engine bay
Its about 10mm to long!

#10: Re: P****d off! Author: Lecktorious, Location: ScotlandPosted: Tue Feb 07, 2012 2:08 pm ---- Should you not be ftting shortened shocks to match the springs?
#11: Re: P****d off! Author: Ste, Location: Hull -or- The World Of Info CodePosted: Tue Feb 07, 2012 2:33 pm ---- They look fine to me, exactly like my old Bilstein's, I cant see why the droplink connector would catch tbh mate, are you sure your fitting the shockers on the correct side of the car, as they are side dependant?
Do note though that if the springs are over a 30mm drop the shocks have the potential to bottom out as they're not shortened shocks..
If you look on the sticker on the shocks they should tell you which side they need to be fitted on mate, have a wee peak at them and make sure you were fitting them to the correct side, this isnt aimed at been undermining, it's just I've seen people fit them on the wrong side before and it's something that's sometimes overlooked.

#13: Re: P****d off! Author: V9977, Location: Athens, GreecePosted: Tue Feb 07, 2012 3:05 pm ---- I have those (B4's) fitted for the past year and I'm about to bin them and get genuine pug ones instead.
It just did not work for me at all.
Far-far too soft, way softer than OEM, banging on the out-stroke and the worst part:
oscilating and resonance on minor road surface uneveness.
Total fiasco but my mech had warned me that I would bitterly regret fitting them.
Might as well have kept the OEM worn ones for sure.
#14: Re: P****d off! Author: Steve206, Location: UKPosted: Tue Feb 07, 2012 3:57 pm ---- As said, they should fit without coming near to the inside edge of the wheel space. Were they unopened in box?
#15: Re: P****d off! Author: LeeMaddern, Location: ScunthorpePosted: Tue Feb 07, 2012 4:46 pm ---- Yeah they were unopend mate
