The day I said goodbye to my old ride when I traded her in @ Peugeot Pinetown... My old 206 GTi180
My new 207 GTi that I bought in Sep 2010
Car didn't even have 2000kms on, and she got treated to a bodykit... RC Line Irmscher front splitters and side skirts
My first power mods...
My first trip to Lee's house. (Us Puggers call him the General... Maybe some of you okes should know him. Done a lot of lower mount upgrades!)
We did Forge Intake, Seat Sport Intercooler and hollowed out my cat here...
Old intercooler vs new intercooler...
Forge CAI intake fitted...
Forge intake and Seat Cooler fitted...
Next came the Forge Blow Off Valve, Upgraded oil feed line to turbo, Forge Top boost pipes and full exhaust.
Bends for exhaust...
Oil feed line...
My PowerFlow exhaust boxes...
My car getting the full exhaust done @ Hannes's workshop...
New downpipe made...
Exhaust fabrication...
The new engine bay with the Forge Blow Off Valve and Top pipes fitted.
And some finishing touches at the time...
Fitted some vinyl headlight eyelids as well...
I ordered an Eibach 30mm ProKit.
Standard wheel arch gap...
After fitting the kit...
Upgraded the brakes... Fitted a PowerBrake GT brake upgrade kit.
I then went through the route later of having the calipers painted with 'Powerbrake' logos done...
Then came an interesting phase... More Power!
I bought a GTI Turbo done up with the General's recipe!
Fitted Aquamist Water/Methanol Injection...
And ETuners Stage 3+ remap all courtesy from ETuners!
Here are some videos of how the car revs up with the WMI turned on... ESP on...
Video of View of the boost gauge with WMI switch...
I then felt my car just wasn't low enough and needed to go down more especially in the rear.
So I opted for a set of coilovers... KW Variant 1!
The rear...
The front...
To date... How the car looks now...
Some pics of her all cleaned up...
Well that's about it for now... This year I plan on working on her drivetrain. Got some work for the box and LSD planned...

#13: Re: My old 206 GTi180 Project followed by latest 207 GTi Project Author: Porra46, Location: Bethlehem, South AfricaPosted: Wed Feb 08, 2012 2:30 pm ---- Thanks for all the comments guys!!!
The 2010 model 207 GTIs were stripped of the oil temp needle. My friends that have older models have this needle. It sits under the speedo. Don't know why it was removed... But since mine is the facelift model it received features that they don't have also like the USB box, Bluetooth, rear LED lights, etc.
You guys obviously know what the stock standard GTi180 does on average... About 130kw flywheel power.
The stock 207 GTi does about 128kw on the flywheel...
This was a dyno sheet done last year in June. This indicates flywheel power...
Modifications include: FRC Stage 1 remap, Forge Cold Air Intake, Forge Blow Off Valve, Forge piping, Seat Intercooler and decat and 63mm PowerFlow exhaust...
I have yet to run on a dyno or rolling road with the current extra modifications like Hybrid turbo, Water/Methanol Injection And ETuners stage 3+ remap.
Here are some vids of her @ ODi Raceway. This was also before the extra mods. My car wasn't even lowered here. Lol! I managed a 15.1 on the 400m and achieved a speed of 200km/h on the 1km.
This was against my one friend Daniel with a similar modified 207 GTI...
And this is against another white modified 207 GTI. Also my friend... Called Michael...
This was against my other friend Ashraf's modified 207 GT (Making almost same power as modified GTIs)
This was my 1km run...
You guys might enjoy this one... 2 GTi180s having a go on the strip. Both are my friends as well. Stanley has the blue GTi180 and Edrich has the silver one. Silver one only has exhaust. They are both practically stock...
#14: Re: My old 206 GTi180 Project followed by latest 207 GTi Pro Author: Porra46, Location: Bethlehem, South AfricaPosted: Wed Feb 08, 2012 2:38 pm ---- And here is a video of how she is now...
This is with all the modifications to date.
This was filmed from my one friend's relatively modified 207 GTI.
I was up against a BMW E92 M3 V8. He still beats me, but look how I hold him in the beginning. When we go over 100km/h, he passes me and this where displacement kicks in. Not bad for a 1.6 turbo vs a V8 monster!
Sorry this video is quite wrong and illegal... I normally race on strips. but this guy wanted a real go there and now and so we had some fun. Hope I don't offend anyone.
#15: Re: My old 206 GTi180 Project followed by latest 207 GTi Project Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Wed Feb 08, 2012 3:31 pm ---- Somebody needs to slot one of these engines into a 206.
