My car has failed its mot as the abs light is on.Mechanic advised me there is no sign of abs on the rear but i should have. The main wiring is there but nothing going to either drums.... is it simple as buying new sensors and hubs or what.... hope you can help Rolling Eyes

well you will need the ABS senors anyway...should be either

4545 77 or 4545 79

but other thing is you will have to make sure you got the correct rear drums... as non-abs and abs use different rear drum...and i don' t think they are interchangable

that's the bit i am not sure Laughing

for the disc axle it fit onto the caliper mounting plate on the trailing arm, but since the drum axle doesn't have those bits i would have though it fit into the backing plate, should be able to see the slot after you take the drum off. (possible can see it from the back too)

and i think the non-abs run smaller backing plate/ drum (180mm); while abs must run 203mm drum......

I took car home and took wheels and drums off... the drums have abs rings but there is no sign on backing plate where a sensor would go.Could it possibly be that there was never abs at the rear or would the front not work without rear? I am confused!!! What is a rear beam lol
