2.0 HDi still running rough

#1: 2.0 HDi still running rough Author: joe_hdi, Location: Blackburn PostPosted: Thu Feb 09, 2012 12:42 pm

I posted about this last year and didn't get anywhere. Thought I'd give it a go again.

The engine resists to accelerate at about 1500 - 2000 rpm. It also kicks out a lot of black smoke from the tail pipe at the same time. I've given it a service changing all filters and the oil. I've also tried some injector cleaner but doesn't seem to have done the trick. Any ideas anyone?

I haven't messed with my EGR, and my oil level is nicely between min and max reading on the dip stick.

Its probably what seabook said then. does it pick up a bit when you get to about 2500rpm?

It doesnt really sound like anythings wrong then really, its not going to be as responsive at low revs as the turbo hasnt kicked in.

Laughing

you got a 2.0HDI sw so i can't believed you say this Laughing

stock engine got peak torque at 2000rpm at 1 bar boost.

any rev. between 1500 to 2500 should have plenty of poke.

anthing after that will just die out
