Dash Warning Lights???
-> 206 Problems

#1: Dash Warning Lights??? Author: ej2_sir, Location: Derby PostPosted: Thu Feb 09, 2012 2:48 pm

Hi all,
my new car (52 2.0hdi D turbo) seems to have every fault under the sun! Along with a knackered axle, The electrics have started playing up. Apologise for the essay!
-First bought car, airbag light on intermitently. Now on permanent.
-Indicators would will ocaisionally stop working, have to push them up/down and they work again.
-Ocaisionally headlights come on/off with indicators.
-Occaisonally Passenger Airbag deactivated warning light comes on. Happened twice last week.
-Lastly and most worrying, driving today and suddenly all warning lights came on, headlights went off (in the dark!! Shocked ) speedo and rev counter fell to 0, odometer went to _ _ _ _ _. This happened for about 3 seconds then everything came back and was fine (apart from airbag fault light)

Having driven reliable Jap Cars for years I find this crazy/dangerous!!!
Anyone have any thoughts? Am I looking at Com unit, knackered battery/alternator or ? Sorry for rant any help apreciated!

206's cause silly problems when the battery is on the way out. Go get that tested. Think Halfords do it for free.
