#1: Lent the car, back with problems Author: bisphenol-a, Location: AntarcticaPosted: Fri Feb 10, 2012 2:05 pm ---- i have 3 new problems on hand after lending the car
power steering seemed to have gone dead. putting on muscle just by using the steering wheel. sometimes i hear sound from behind the wheel that gives me the impression there is some liquid and air rushing. popped the bonnet, everything seems ok. no leaks, my guess is that i am not looking hard enough or im looking at the wrong places.
every early morning start up, car vibrates. no smooth idle but the vibrations are pretty bad. i can feel and i can see the car vibrating. rev it up drive off and it doesnt bother me until the next morning.
clutch biting point feels like its mushed up inside. i dont get the feel where the biting point gets caught nicely into each gear shift. not sure if this is what a worn clutch feels like but i do have a spare clutch ready to fit. hopefully its just a case of new clutch plus a good machining on the fly wheel.
its due for a servicing so hopefully most get cleared up after that or am i experiencing symptoms of a greater problem?
besides that however, i have 1 underlying problem i had since day 1. i hear water trickling down the passenger side where the glove box is on random occasions. i thought im leaking something but its all dry. at first i thought it might be rain water making its way through but its dry and sunny.
what is it with my car?

Clean the stepper motor.
There is a way to check if the clutch is on the way out.. someone will post it soon.
And service it.
Also, I get the same sound. Some people say its air in the system but its had a coolant change and same issue exists..

for the second problem, clean the stepper motor and that should fix the problem, and also clean the MAP sensor while you are in that spot.
To check if the clutch it worn out,put the gear in First, pull the handbrake very firmly, and try to make the car move forward,so if the car viprates and shake when you do that,it means your clutch is worn out,but if the car stay steady and you can feel nothing but the sound of the enging while it move forward with the handbrake ON,you will feel the car go low from the back, then your clutch is fine.
About the water sound you hear in the passenger side, that is caused because the heater matrix is kinda of clogged which mean that the water circle don't run smoothly and softly inside it on it way in and out,so what you need to to do is flush it,and to so you have to take the heater matrix hoses off from the engine bay,and use some products that clean calcification and pure it inside the heater matrix, and leave it for like 10-15 min. to do the job,and make sure the heater matrix is full of it,and make sure it's out from the (out) hose, then flush it throughly with water,Do that on your own responsabilty, incase things went wrong,it won't be my fault ;),and after you are done, but a new coolant in,and make sure to bleed the system well from the heater matrix bleed point first, then the thermostat bleed point with car not working.
