206CC Boot Lock

Ours won't lock. First it wouldn't unlock, but now it opens everytime but you can't lock it.

When you hit the central locking, should there be a noise from the boot lock area? Click, buzz, etc? I hear silence.

It was too cold yesterday to start pulling the boot apart, so anyone have any ideas?

PS It's a pre-plex, 2001 model.

Thanks!

When I had mine (2001 Pre) the boot would never unlock with the Central Locking. You always had to use the key for the first time (then you could close it and open it until you pressed the button on the key to lock the doors)
I never heard any noise from the boot lock when locking or unlocking from the button on the key, only the 'buzz' when unlocking the boot itself manually.

I don't know what is causing it not to lock though, sorry.

Well. I've got the car from 24th to 31st ... so the boot lock is on the list to be investigated.

So far:

New O/S lower suspension arm (split balljoint cover)
New N/S outer CV gaiter clip (the tie-wrap some muppet fitted keeps coming off)
Swap out rear light units for phase 2s
Replace blown bulbs in upper brake light
Check out Lambda/cat fault codes with PP2000 when my cables arrive!

And possibly an MOT test ...

The end of the actuator rod on the solenoid/actuator motor is bent and as it's plastic, it's unlikely to go back straight without snapping. I could try warming it in very hot water, but I don't think it will last long.

When the central locking activates, the rod connecting the solenoid to the lock pushes through the solenoid rod and wedges in the wrong place. So when we try and lock the boot with the key, it's gets jammed up and stuck.

Going to get a new solenoid/actuator box ... for now, it's disconnected.
