#3: Re: 206 temperature problems Author: 206DAG, Location: WakefieldPosted: Wed Feb 15, 2012 2:28 pm ---- The problem started earlier today after a short journey of approx 2 miles, i noticed the temp needle had reached into the red and so i put on the heater to try and bring down the temp but nothing happened, the engine fan did not come on and after arriving back home i left the car to stand for over 2 hours before checking the oil and water levels but both were okay, i then started the engine from cold and it had only been running for maybe 5 minutes max and thats when i started to record the video, but this time the needle is up and down and all over the place and if you listen you will hear me turn on the heater blower but instead of the needle dropping it does actually rise, confused dot com, any suggestions anybody??

#12: Re: 206 temperature problems Author: furryhobnob, Location: NuneatonPosted: Thu Feb 16, 2012 1:59 am ---- Sounds like you've bought a bad one as I had a gti138 for 4 years and now have a gti180 and never had to fork out for anything other than wear and tear stuff, if you look after your car it looks after you
#13: Re: 206 temperature problems Author: Taff!, Location: Havant nr PortsmouthPosted: Thu Feb 16, 2012 3:05 am ---- Have a search for sensors. I'm pretty sure I saw a few topics on here about a faulty sensor causing the temperature guauge toa ppears as if it were overheating. I can't remember if it was the green coolant temperature gauge which goes into the thermostat housing or the other sensor that's near it but apparently it can causes issues. I'll have a trawl and see if I can find those topics again too.
#14: Re: 206 temperature problems Author: 206DAG, Location: WakefieldPosted: Thu Feb 16, 2012 5:35 am ---- yes mr hobnob i believe i have bought a right old pile of beep and i also use the phrase look after your car and it will look after you, no truer words spoken.
and thanks Taff i will go have another look, i just got tired of searching last night to be honest with you i will go have another look, i checked all the fuses includung the ones in the engine bay but there all good so as to what that clicking noise is and where it was coming from im not sure at all.
The best way to describe the type of clicking noise, you know when an indicator bulb goes you get a fast clicking noise inside the car, its a bit like that but not as loud.
