#1: Gti180 service Author: furryhobnob, Location: Nuneaton PostPosted: Sat Feb 18, 2012 9:53 am
    ----
Hi guys I bought the 180 about 7 months ago, it had just had a service and mot when I bought it, so today was the first time I've serviced it as I've covered 11,000 miles in these 7 months so thought it was due one as it wasn't running as smooth as it could, so I thought I would start with new plugs as I didn't know what plugs were in there, low and behold they were the dreaded NGK plugs :-0

I then changed the pollen filter, it has a K&N panel filter so didnt touch that, I drained the oil and was shocked at how much s**te was in it

After that had drained out I put a new oil filter on and in went the new oil, I'm not sure if it was the NGK's but the car runs alot smoother now with Bosch super 4's in Smile
Then I took a couple of pics so you could see the new alloys better, the car is dirty after driving over 60 miles to work and back today on the dirty lanes in the wet

It is meant to be black but there was also a load of sediment sitting in the bottom of the pan

The oil filter that was on was a unipart one so not a pug one, my step dad is a master tech for Peugeot and it only cost me £16 for everything I needed, so it now has a pug oil filter on Smile

Haha I like the look of them too but the tempest look good, I was at a cashpoint earlier and the car was parked up behind me, 2 youths who were about 20 walked past it and I heard him say to his mate, that car looks phat, I take that as approval that the tempest are ok haha

I changed my sparkplugs about a month or so ago now for the same reason as you, felt it wasn't running as good as it should. The feeling you get when you find them friggin NGK's sitting in there. Made me wanna smash them up with the hammer lol. She runs like a dream now on super 4's Smile

i quite like them alloys :), just a quick question what oil did you use? i serviced mine 6000 miles ago and going to service it again tomorrow, but am unsure what oils best. i used castrol magnetic 5-30 last time and fancy a change thinking Mobil 1 New life but its only available in 0-40 and the 180 should run on 5-40 don't know weather to try it
