#1: Noisy when turning right? Author: kit325, Location: LondonPosted: Mon Feb 20, 2012 8:55 am ---- My car make some funny crunching noise when i turn full lock right (drive slow) and can feel the car a bit wobble. No crunching noise but can feel something wrong when i turn into right junction (not full lock). No problem turning left.
Front tyres wear are normal and help needed cause i dun know wat cause this. Any advice will be appreciated!

only happens when i go real slow though, normally when im reversing out a car parking space.
can't say i've got the crunching sound though.
i changed my anti roll bar linkage arms hoping that would sort it as they were kind of knackered, hasnt changed anything though.

#4: Re: Noisy when turning right? Author: TJsmith, Location: Ipswich, UKPosted: Mon Feb 20, 2012 11:38 am ---- had this problem not so long back. not so much of the wobbling though. turned out to be my front brake pads had worn down to the metal, causing crunching sounds.... just a suggestion

Author: ramigojag, Location: worcestershirePosted: Mon Feb 20, 2012 11:45 am ---- I have something similar although don't think it's quite as bad as the described problem and my discs and pads all round have only been on a couple of months and covered only a few hundred miles

#7: Re: Noisy when turning right? Author: Timon2210, Location: PalestinePosted: Mon Feb 20, 2012 1:04 pm ---- could be a worn out CV joint
#8: Re: Noisy when turning right? Author: kit325, Location: LondonPosted: Wed Feb 22, 2012 7:59 am ---- Similar to scottgti's car (like driving on marbles), but only happen when driving for lock to the right. Seems alright when reversing.
Let say is a worn cv joint, how much will it cost to repair it? It is harder than changing wishbones?
#9: Re: Noisy when turning right? Author: rick-gti, Location: welshpool, mid walesPosted: Wed Feb 22, 2012 8:06 am ---- Had abit of a similar noise on a gti i have just broke, there was no play in any of the joints but was a small amount of corrosion to the passenger side top mount. And the drivers side tyre was worn to the wear lines.

Top mount is fairly 'simple' to replace if you have the right tools or know someone who does and you know what you're doing, if not, speak to a trusted garage and see what they quote.
To do the top mount it'll mean taking the strut assembly out so you can access it, also means disengaging steering arms (tie rods) and removing the drive shafts from the hub.
