Hay every 1. Drove to work this morning about a 38 miles and when I got here had a bit of time so sat in car for a bit. Temp when up from just below 90 to about 100 in 5 mins. Is this normal ? And is there and kits u can get to make them run cooler like u can get for the golf git 1.8 20vt's ? Thanks

Yes its normal as long as the fan kicked in and cooled it down again. Why would you wanna make the engine run cooler anyway, its designed to run at the temperatures indicated.

mine does this too believe the fan kicks in at 100 if not start to panic lol Smile

when driving normally just sits between 80-90 when in traffic or standstill creeps up to 100 and fan kicks in and drops back to a steady 90

As above it is perfectly fine. With petrol at the price it is though if I was sat anywhere for more than a minute engine would be off.

there's NOTHING wrong with it & 90 deg C is bang on where it should be running.

If the car isnt moving that means there is no airflow through the radiator to cool it.

This means the engine temp will rise up till the cooling fan low speed is triggered which will then cool the radiator back down again & lower the engine temp.

That cycle will just repeat until you either start moving again or switch the engine off.

Working 100% correct and does not need any attention or worry.

You are one of the lucky few as most posters on here do have an issue. It is then spent arguing over sensor or thermostat and if it is the sensor is it a blue one, green one or brown one. if it is the blue one then which one.

Don't worry and don't fit a cooler it is spot on.
