Yes.

How to fix it not fully sure. I'm presuming will need the codes cleared with a new filter/additional fluid.

short answer is yes its common, if the car is abused or only ever run on short trips (i expect mine to be showing signs soon).

as for the fix, there are several routes to take,

get teh bsi read first to make sure its not a software issue,

if that comes up clean, you can either replace the dpf about £700 from peugeot and anything else wrong fixed at the same time but expect a bill in the ££££.

the other solution is after checking the bsi for fault (and coming back clean), bash out the inside of the dpf then have the bsi "fixed" so it wont cause a problem again, the up side is with the right mapping done after you can gain around 30bhp and apparently an extra 7mpg (due to it not trying to put more diesel into the engine to superheat the dpf (now no longer there)).

the above route is what ill be doing when mine goes tits up.

cost varies, my mate can do all the work bar the bsi and subsequent remap for around £50 - £100, so alot cheaper than a replacement dpf unit. and also never have to be done again Very Happy :D Very Happy
