I've got to fit a new catalytic converter on the weekend, and need to swap the lambda sensors. Do i need to add any type of sealing product to them, or just screw them in. Also the the sensors are coming from a 180 cat to my 138 cat, will they be ok?

the sealing ring should be okay on them i will have a look to see if the 180 and 138 uses the same sensors for you

looking on service box it would appear the 138 with a motorised throttle bodies share the same lambda sensors with the 180, But I'm unsure weather all the 138 were built with motorised throttle bodies or not sorry

Don't add anything apart from the metal sealing ring or it can poison the λ-sensor.

They should all be the same fitting.

Didn't even think to check service box. Mine has a motorised throttle, will probably get this done tomorrow. I'll do a how to if I get the chance. Not a bad job, just tight! Will give all the clamps a good soak tonight.

Yeah its a reletivly simple job made easier if you have drive on ramp Smile didn't take me long, would advise soaking them makes it abit quicker to undo, also a quick tip on getting the exhaust clamps off is to use another bolt and unwind the clamp so it open up enough to separate the sections! Will get a pic later for you of what I mean,
